I thought confidence was something that was natural and which some people had and some people didn't.This book by author and coach Barrie D shows otherwise. Confidence can be learned and applied. Also, anyone can access and implement these tips in their lives. I found each of these actions to be small actions but can contribute to big changes in our lives so we can live more confidently.Tips that were helpful included visualizing confidence, the art of reframing so we don't allow rejections in life to shatter our confidence and tips for confidence in social situations. Just practical advice like having a set of conversation starters before a social event, mirroring to being vulnerable in a conversation were all helpful tips.Not every tip can work for you but you get a good idea of what confident people do, how they approach life, social situations and work, and you can decide which to use in your own life to live more confidently. The book is written in a how-to format without much frivolous information - it's to the point, has action steps and gives you many ideas to be the confident person you'd like to become.

This book has an uncommon amount of common sense. It covers tangible ways in every area of life for confidence improvement, which is something I need to get better at.What I really like about it is that so many of these items are backed up with statistics and research, and lots of good quotes. Some action steps that were especially interesting to me included: dressing like the people you want to become in your industry (something I've started doing!), avoiding the glamorization of the media, and reducing the size of to-do lists.Thanks for your art Barrie!

This is a good self help book with all of the basics. It is well written and easy to read and understand. I gave it four stars because there is nothing new here and it is simply redesigned and organized a little differently than all of the others. A good reference book that you can grab off the shelf as needed.

Well articulated, interesting and really worth reading. The author has given practical ideas to follow to overcome the difficulties and develop confidence. I really like this book and intend going through other books authored by Barrie Davenport. The book is simple and easy to grasp. It's highly recommended for all those interested to improve their confidence. Equally recommended for younger and adults.

Even if you are already confident in many areas of life, this book will still be very helpful for you, and will likely cover something that you haven't thought of already. The 99 hacks are broken out into several subject areas, or themes, so it's not just a single never-ending list (that you sometimes get with other e-books). Will buy a copy for my wife!

Succinct condensed topics with tools to take with you. Although easily read in one sitting, the subject matter deserves smaller bites to allow time for reflection.I will take the recommendation of doing a re-read and focusing on those areas in need of the most work.

This book is chock full of helpful "action steps" that you can take to boost your confidence. Each of us can recognize flaws in ourselves that destroy our confidence, but very few of us know what specifically to do about them. After reading this book you'll clear ideas of steps you can take to boost your confidence level. There are also interesting anecdotes to help you realize that when your confidence is waning that you are no different than some of the most successful people in the world.

This original "Confidence Hacks" touches on so many of the insecurities in every aspect of our lives that we all have. Ms. Davenport deftly covers very specific internal feelings and the situations that we run into which trigger those, and gives sound advice for dealing with each one. None of us can realistically take on a massive make-over of who we are, nor would we want to, but taking small steps, practicing by using the guidance here, and adjusting to what works can really make a huge difference over time.Let's face it - we are raised to be insecure, to lack confidence. From the time we are young, teachers and parents point out all of the ways we need to improve and that we need to shore up our 'weaknesses'; This continues into the workplace where our employee evaluations focus on not only what we're doing well, but where we fall short or need improvement. And then, the focus is placed on coming up with a plan to address those weaknesses - but we rarely put together a plan to leverage our strengths more.
